TRY~BE SPRING GUIDE: BALANCE AND BRIGHTEN

During spring we look for ways to lighten up and breathe more vibrancy back into our routines. Welcoming lightness back into our routine helps to move us out of winter's sleepy hibernation that can have you feeling dull, heavy or stagnant.

These practices help to reenergise the body and mind with lighter foods, active movement and breathing practices that bring heat and boost circulation. Bringing balance and brightness during this kapha season.

Food - incorporate light, cleansing, warm and freshly cooked foods with raw greens and sprouts, warm grains, legumes, pungent spices, bitter vegetables, and astringent herbs. Enjoy room temperature or hot beverages such as herbal teas like tulsi, dandelion, and nettle or green or black tea (small amounts). Stay away from cold, frozen & canned foods, sugar, fried and overly oily / fatty foods. Creating regular meal times and avoiding snacking will further aid in reenergising and cleansing the digestive system

Breath: Focus on invigorating and energising breath practices that break up stagnation in the chest; regular breathing that expands the lungs and rib cage and emphasises longer exhales. Work on paying attention to your breathing, minimising erratic, tight or shallow breath. Remember to breath!

Movement: Working on reawakening the body after hibernation, it is important to steer away from oversleeping, napping, sitting for long periods of time. Work on bringing heat and strengthening the body. Introduce ways you can move your body that will bring joy and vibrancy to your day!

Meditation: Nature! Walking in & enjoying time in nature. Spring is so beautiful, take note of the world reawakening around you, the vastness of the open sky. Meditation should be light, lively, energising and expansive
